What Happens in a Mediumship Reading — And What to Expect

There is a great deal of fear and misconception around mediumship. Movies and television have painted dramatic, often frightening pictures of what it means to communicate with those who have passed. The reality is far different — and far more beautiful.
What a Mediumship Session Actually Looks Like
A mediumship reading with me begins with prayer and intention. I open myself as a channel for those on the other side who wish to communicate, always in the light of divine love and protection. There is nothing dark or frightening about this process — it is sacred, gentle, and filled with love.
During the session, I may receive impressions, images, words, feelings, or specific memories that your loved ones share with me. Sometimes I see them clearly; other times, I feel their personality or hear their voice in my mind. Every reading is unique because every soul communicates differently.
What Kinds of Messages Come Through
The messages that come through in a mediumship reading are almost always messages of love, healing, and reassurance. Your loved ones want you to know:
They are still with you, watching over you
They are at peace and free from suffering
They forgive, and they ask for your forgiveness too
They celebrate your joys and support you through your struggles
They want you to live fully, not held back by grief
Why the Experience Brings Healing, Not Fear
In over 45 years of doing this work, I have never had a session that left someone more frightened or disturbed than when they arrived. The opposite is true — people leave feeling lighter, more peaceful, and profoundly comforted.
This is because genuine mediumship is conducted in love. The souls who come through are not trapped or suffering — they are free, whole, and filled with the desire to help those they left behind find peace.
How to Prepare for Your First Reading
If you are considering a mediumship reading, here is my advice: come with an open heart. You do not need to believe anything specific — just be willing to receive. Bring a few questions if you like, but hold them loosely. The souls on the other side often have their own messages they need to deliver first.
Most importantly, know that you are safe. This is a sacred space, held in light and love. Whatever messages come through are meant to help you heal, grow, and move forward on your path.
